Mission Statement
At CNS, we believe that the social and physical development of the preschool child is enhanced by nursery school. We focus on the growth and development of the whole child.

In our school, each child is helped to: define a positive self-image, feel confident about his or her new accomplishments, develop new relationships, build the foundation for educational success in future years.

We feel that school activities encourage each child to relate to others through listening, sharing, taking turns, following directions and concentrating on activities. This is achieved by participation that is structured in a warm, supportive atmosphere within developmentally appropriate classes.

Community Nursery School becomes a second home for the entire family…a place where children are encouraged and nurtured… a place where laughter echoes through the hallways and play is considered your child's work.

We believe that children are competent learners, capable of embracing new ideas and engaging with the world around them. Second, we believe children learn through play. Play is their work. It is through play that children practice their social skills. Through play, academic concepts are introduced and children have a chance to use their imagination. Through play, children will naturally learn to become independent critical thinkers. We like to think that children consider Lincoln Country Day School their second home…a place where they are accepted and loved… a place where laughter and play are treasured.
